A Festival Of Flowers In Oil Paint & Oil Pastels
Ruth Edens is an artist living in Belfast with her husband, two kids and her cat. Ruth graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 2004 with a first class honours degree in Drawing and Painting. Ruth also attended Yale Summer School of Music and Art in Connecticut, USA in 2003. Ruth's inspiration comes from flowers and plants and loves responding to them in her art, and when she is not drawing and painting she is probably in the garden. Ruth tells us "I paint and draw in an impressionist style and I love oil paint and oil pastels".
Beauty in the Darkness, 40.6cm x 30.5cm (16”x12”), oil on canvas board, unframed.
‘Beauty in the Darkness’ is an original oil painting on canvas board that is peaceful and meditative. It is inspired by the work of a talented florist called Louise Langdon. I saw this arrangement she had created and couldn’t wait to depict those juicy dark tulips in oil paint with the contrasting wispy white flowers.
