A Festival Of Flowers In Oil Paint & Oil Pastels
Ruth Edens is an artist living in Belfast with her husband, two kids and her cat. Ruth graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 2004 with a first class honours degree in Drawing and Painting. Ruth also attended Yale Summer School of Music and Art in Connecticut, USA in 2003. Ruth's inspiration comes from flowers and plants and loves responding to them in her art, and when she is not drawing and painting she is probably in the garden. Ruth tells us "I paint and draw in an impressionist style and I love oil paint and oil pastels".
Apple Blossom Moments I, oil on stretched canvas, 15cm x 21cm, unframed.
‘Apple Blossom Moments I’ is an original oil painting on stretched canvas. It was inspired by the apple blossom in my own garden that kept me wandering outside in the spring to take in the beauty. We have an apple tree in our garden that was planted by my husband’s granny over 30 years ago and it produces apples that make great apple crumble despite falling over in a storm many years ago and growing sideways. I love it’s strength, tenacity and generosity and wanted to capture that spirit.
